(FTIPress) Professor Shigeharu Morooka, a visiting professor from Kyushu University Japan, has conducted a public lecture entitled “Thermodynamics notes for Chemical Energy Transformation” at department of chemical engineering, faculty of industrial technology, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Prof. Shigeharu delivered general lecture attended by hundreds of students at Campus 3 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, on Thursday 10 th September 2015.
During this general lecture, Prof. Shigeharu told that Chemical Thermodynamic is defined as branch of Chermistry which deals with heat, work, and other form of energy in balanced state during chemical reaction and state changes.
Thermodynamics is the science of energy, which specifically discusses the relationship between heat energy to the work. As it has been known that the energy in the universe can manifest in various forms , in addition to the heat energy and labor , ie chemical energy , electrical energy , nuclear energy , electromagnetic wave energy , energy due to the magnetic force , and others . Energy can be transformed from one form to another , both natural and engineered technology . The participants of general lecture is very enthusiastic, they asked many questions to Prof. Shigeharu.
Before this general lecture, Prof. Dr. Shigeharu Morooka, is welcomed by Faculty of Industrial Technology leaders, Kartika Firdausy, S.T, M.T (Dean), Endah Sulistiawati (Vice Dean), Ir. Siti Jamilatun, M.T (Head of Department Chemical Engineering), Dr. Zahrul Mufrodi, M.T, Rusydi Umar, S.T., M.T., Ph.D, and staff of UAD International Relation Office, Miss. Nurun.
